“The ampersand is the logogram ‘&’, representing the conjunction word ‘and’. It originated as a ligature of the letters et, Latin for ‘and’.” (source)
This symbol is very important to me and my family. Jerod and I are writers, and use of the ampersand indicates the continuation of a sentence. We used ‘&’ as the unity symbol at our wedding in 2012. I had ‘&’ tattooed on my wrist after we lost our first baby to a miscarriage in 2015. I use ‘&’ to link our names together — Jerod & Amanda — to represent unity.
The Lord has used our life events to propel us forward. In the good times and the bad, we have chosen to continue our story with ‘&’ instead of a period. Every day presents a choice: grow, or stay stagnant. Exist, or don’t. I want to infuse this purposeful forward movement into my blog, one ‘&’ at a time.
