The Scott Law Group PS, of Spokane, has increased substantially its office space on the sixth floor of the Spokane Chronicle Building, at 926 W. Sprague downtown.
Originally located in about 3,700 square feet of space, the firm now occupies about 6,200 square feet of space, taking up about three-fourths of the floor, says legal assistant Samantha Simatos-Baeschlin.
Building management was responsible for some renovations, including installing new carpet and knocking down a few walls, Simatos-Baeschlin says. The added space previously was occupied by Centennial Properties Inc., an affiliate of the Cowles Co.
Cowles owns the building and separately owns the Journal of Business.
The law firm decided to expand its space because of company growth, says Simatos-Baeschlin. An attorney, a paralegal, and a support staff member will start with the firm in January, bringing the employee total there to 11, she says.
Established in 2004, the Scott Law Group focuses on class-action and consumer-protection litigation. Specifically, it researches claims of harm caused by asbestos, pharmaceutical drugs, deceptive Internet practices, deceptive debt settlement and debt adjustment firms, negligently caused wildland fires, and unfair wage and employment practices, according to its website.
